Email equity@fairfield.edu, use the online TitleIX reporting form, or call 203-254-HELP to share information with the Title IX Coordinator.

DPS is available to provide tailored training to groups in their work areas and has provided the attached downloadable safety tips document for you to review.

Please contact Public Safety to coordinate training at 203-254-4000 ext. 4090.

Download the LiveSafe app on your phone and sign in with your Fairfield email address. Using this app, you can immediately access a safety escort, find an AED or EpiPen on campus, and request DPS assistance.

We've been notified by a faculty member that there is a license plate reader on campus directed inward from at the south entrance to campus off Barlow Road, so you can alert any privacy-conscious guests to use the main entrance. We will inquire with the safety committee about where those records go. Flockhopper is one app among many that reveals where a lot of these cameras are.

AAUP-AFT Benefits

In a moment when it is becoming increasingly difficult to predict the consequences of our online speech and choices, we hope you will find these strategies and resources helpful. You are a member of AFT if you are an FWC-AAUP member, so you have access to resources from the American Federation of Teachers as well.

1. Trauma Counseling Programs and Services. The AFT offers support and services to members who experience workplace trauma. If you or other members experience a traumatic event at work, this trauma counseling benefit can provide support.

2. Legal Services through Union Plus

3. Occupational Liability Insurance. AAUP-AFT offers insurance that provides coverage for legal expenses in the event that you are sued for activities performed in the course of your work duties.

AAUP FAQs

This is national AAUP guidance for members, who can also access additional resources, including guidebooks about the Family and Medical Leave Act and Pregnancy in the Academy and an online guide to when faculty handbooks can be enforceable as contracts. Let us know if you need help setting up a user name or signing in to the national site. National AAUP guidelines refer to recommended and ideal conditions, so in practice at specific institutions, some of these will be messier, unclear, and may require support from the AAUP here on campus, and in some cases answers to these questions on campus will be different based on what is in our Handbook and Journal of record.
