We marched as a faculty up to Bellarmine Hall again in 2016 to protest cuts to our benefits. We had a faculty labor committee that worked closely with other sectors of organized labor on campus, and we need people to do that again. There was a sit-in in the early 2000s in which students and faculty took over Bellarmine Hall to protest the fact that a staff union for housekeeping services was shunted to a private contractor, though that outsourced housekeeping staff is represented by SEIU 32 BJ.
